Hi folks,
I’ve been a fantasy fan since childhood, largely thanks to my parents. I grew up reading Zelazny, Tolkien, Lewis, and many others. For me, fantasy was always a form of escape—a way to experience a different kind of world, even though my childhood was far from troubled.
In my late teens, I gradually realized that neither fantasy nor science fiction were truly about other worlds, times, or realities. Instead, they provided a more colorful framework through which to view our own world.
It was like having a mild headache that you don’t notice at first, only to suddenly feel its persistent growth until it dominates your thoughts. I began to spot all these “real-world” elements in fantasy books, which became frustrating—like trying to escape one room only to find yourself in a nearly identical one.
Eventually, I became so disillusioned with fantasy that I dismissed it altogether, thinking, “If I want to explore themes of the human condition, hope, and other deeply human topics, I’ll just read Faulkner or Tolstoy.” I even stopped following Marvel, DC, and similar stories.
Fast forward about a decade: I’m on a long flight from London to San Francisco, browsing Audible for something to listen to. Somehow, “The Name of the Wind” was the first recommendation. Not knowing why, I downloaded it. As I scrolled for more options, the plane took off, leaving me with just that audiobook.
Listening to it, I experienced something unexpected. I discovered a poetic, ornamental beauty and a comforting ambiance—not in the typical fantasy sense, but rather reminiscent of an old medieval tale narrated by a seasoned storyteller in a London pub.
Even though the audiobook felt a bit slow, once I landed I turned to ChatGPT for a summary that wasn’t just a dry plot synopsis. I wanted to capture the atmosphere and vibes of the story in a condensed narrative form. I loved the result, and that’s when a genius idea struck me.
I decided to harness AI magic to transform epic fantasy books into short tales, complete with images that capture their unique moods and tell a captivating story.
Thus, this channel was born. I’ve only uploaded two videos so far, but more are coming every Tuesday and Friday.
If you’re interested, please check it out and share your suggestions—whether about the content, the presentation, or anything else. I truly value the opinions and feedback of those who are genuinely interested in this kind of content.
Please note that in these first few videos, the voiceover quality isn’t perfect due to my limited experience with some tools, but improvements are on the way. Future narrations will be more immersive.
